The Plataforma Samba Show, similar to a Las Vegas Show only in Rio de Janeiro. A performance of acrobatics, singers, drummers and live dancers with colorful extravagantly sequined barely there outfits.

Our evening started out with the PennyOnTheGo team climbing on to a large bus, with people from all over the world, we had fabulous conversations, learning things about many other countries. The tour included a wonderful churrasco (shoo-RAS-koo) dinner prior to the show were we had more great conversation and fabulous food, Rio de Janeiro serves some of the best meat.

When arriving at the show location it was a packed house, but the men at PennyOnTheGo found us gal’s seats at the front table, close enough to reach out and touch someone. The show started out with tall beautiful men with muscle defined bodies dressed in loin cloths carrying spears dancing through the forest to music. The traditional dances, carnival costumes, voodoo dances, drumming and acrobatics kept us all in awe through the show.

The show ended with a grand finale of the performers dancing to infectious music down the isle of show goers and inviting them to dance with them, this was a spectacular event, one that had us talking for a couple of days about the history of Rio de Janeiro and of course the famous Carnival.
