Swim with the Dolphins

We swam with the dolphins at Xcaret. My 8 year old said this was the highlight of our trip. we purchased the hour and I was a little worried that it would be a little long or that we would get 45 minutes of how dolphins survive in the wild and 15 minutes of being near them.

Nope! We got right in by them immediately. We First got to get pictures with us close to them and kissing. Yep I have now kissed an aquatic mammal and enjoyed it. Then they let several dolphins swim and around us that we could pet. My sons loved this as the dolphins would come up behind them and bump them for attention. You could tell we were not irritating the dolphins or hurting them in that they seemed to enjoy it and wanted more. They would roll over so we could pet their bellies too. The strength in their tails and bodies is amazing. My youngest could not get enough of this and would have taken one home if he could.

Then for a the piece de resistance, they had 2 dolphins push us through the water. You immediately accelerate up to about 20 miles an hour and the feeling is close to water skiing but it is all dolphin power. If you have youngsters this should not be missed.
