Just forty-five minuets west of the twin cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul Minnesota is a Penny on the go type of small town with a rustic look and a well-kept secret. Annandale Minnesota. The secret, the Blue Waters Family Restaurant, has some of the best food; attractively presented for a very modest price. This restaurant with its nautical motif features seafood and steaks. You would expect to find a good steak out in the area of farms and many, many small lakes but the sixteen-ounce sirloin was large and tender and tasted great, with a choice of soup or salad and a choice of potatoes and then served with a fresh diner size loaf of bread. Did I say good? The menu was complete with scallops and shrimp offered in marinara or Alf redo sauce, the special was breaded scallops.

Two could and did eat a big sumptuous meal for under twenty-five dollars. If you are going to entertain a few friends on your boat on a near by lake, stop in for take out and if your are going to have twenty to one hundred over to your lake cabin, have them cater it.
